Anglian Care is a trusted Home Care provider in Essex. We have offices in Benfleet and Chelmsford and we have been providing care for people for over 10 years. We are pleased to have achieved ‘outstanding’ in Leadership and Management for the second inspection running and good in all other areas.

Anglian Care has recently partnered with United in Kind, an ECC NGO. With our local representative Anna Wilson Anglian Care has launched both the ‘Send a Smile’ campaign and the ‘Hug in a Shrug’ campaign, bring local knitters, poets and organisations together to better the well being of those we care for.

The Key Findings of Our Report
  • Our findings at this inspection showed there were many occasions whereby the service went ‘above and beyond’ in a way that exceeded expectations required of a domiciliary care service.
  • People using the service and those acting on their behalf were consistently positive about the quality of the service they received.
  • The registered provider and manager strived for excellence by continually seeking advice and guidance through research and reflective from a variety of sources, such as the National Health Service [NHS] and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence [NICE].

Here at Anglian Care our Loneliness Champion is continuing their fantastic work with our Phone Club. The Phone Club is an opportunity for your loved ones to have a nice chat about themselves and what they’ve been up to. 

Combating loneliness is one of the most important challenges facing the vulnerable in our society. We have learnt that a chat a week with out Loneliness Champion can go a long way in connecting our team with those we care for!

Meet Our Team

Des Cross

Founder

Des is one of the founders of Anglian Care. He started Anglian Care as he wanted to ensure that his grandmother could get the best possible care. Through creating a positive, caring culture, Des ensures that the care that Anglian Care provides is to the high standard he would want for his own family members.
He has taken it upon himself to learn in great depth the high level of care he expects from each of his carers. Through this determination he has succeeded in passing the level 2, 3 and 5 diploma in Health and Social Care. With this knowledge it is clear the skill that Des brings to Anglian Care does not stop with his kind and compassionate managerial style.

Rebecca Hassan

Registered Manager

Rebecca came to Anglian Care as a part of our care staff. Through her hard work and determination to provide high quality care and put our service users at the heart of everything we do it was clear Rebecca embodied the Anglian Care spirit.
Through ongoing training Rebecca passed her level 2 and 3 diploma in Health and Social Care. It is commendable the level of progression that Rebecca has shown growing into each and every role she has been in.
Rebecca is currently studying for her level 5 in Management of Health and Social Care.

Sam Parker

Nominated Individual

Sam has been a great success at Anglian Care showing her consistent commitment to developing her understanding in how to deliver quality care.
Through attending the Southend Adult college, and producing some great work, Sam has passed both the level 2 and 3 diploma with City Guilds in Health and Social Care. Sam has gone from strength to strength helping the Team at Anglian Care to provide a valuable care service for the elderly in our local community.

Charlie

Chief Operating Officer

Charles Cross is Chief Operating Officer of Anglian Care, a private home care service provider supporting a range of care services in Essex to keep loved ones at home. Charles is passionate about the social care sector and innovating services to deliver better outcomes for patient care. Prior to joining Anglian Care in 2008, he worked in the financial advisory and insurance sector, having earned his degree at Nottingham University in BSc Economics. Charles is also a member of the Academic and Health Science Network offering start-ups advice on Healthtech innovations. Charles Cross won the Home Care Insight Award for Care Innovator in 2021, with the business converting over to a digital care planning and management software in 2020

Rosie

Recruitment Consultant

Rosie is Anglian Care’s new Recruitment Consultant.

Rosie has recently graduated from the University of Suffolk with a History degree and is now looking forward to starting her career in recruitment and community engagement.

Rosie has experience working as a Student Ambassador for her university, where she worked at open days, visited schools and colleges, and assisted with the recruitment of new students. She also worked for Suffolk Archives as a community engagement intern where she was responsible for organising events and exhibitions. She is hoping to use this experience in her role at Anglian Care when recruiting new staff, visiting schools and careers fairs, and organising schemes to engage the Essex community with Anglian Care.

Sarah

Care Coordinator

Sarah joined Anglian Care two years ago as part of our care team. Through hard work and dedication, Sarah completed her level 5 NVQ in Health and Social Care, and she now works in the office full time as a care coordinator.
Sarah says 'I enjoy providing care in clients homes to enable them to remain in their own homes for as long as possible'.

Joleen

Care Coordinator

As Head of Training and Development at Anglian Care, Joleen overseas the progress of those taking their Care Certificate or National Vocational Qualifications. Joleen has recently passed her level 3 award in Education and Training as well as various Train the Trainer courses. She will also be increasing the amount of specialist training available to our care team through engaging classroom and virtual sessions.

Joleen says 'I always planned to develop my career in the care sector and rejoining the team at Anglian Care was my first choice as their dedication to person-centered care and ensuring the rights and wellbeing of our service users are always put first which is a philosophy that is perfectly aligned with my own'.
