The Cost of Care

To begin with, no two people have exactly the same care needs. All care plans should be written for individual circumstances whether they are for a person living alone, someone who resides in a care home or somebody who still lives with their partner or other family members. What this means is that no two cases are likely to cost exactly the same as one another. That said, many care plans contain the same basic elements so there are often similar costs for similar care plans.

In the main, the level of expenditure that will be required to meet a care plan will be governed by the amount of manpower that is needed. In other words, although using certain consumable items to carry out a care plan may come with an attendant cost, the main factor is the cost associated with each care worker that will need to be assigned to deliver the care. As a business that prides itself on the welfare of its staff, all of the care workers at Anglian Care are paid in accordance with their skills. As such, care costs can seem quite high at first. However, there is help available.

Funding Rule Changes

The rules regarding care funding have changed in recent times. The government announced in September 2021 that who would be able to access local authority funding would alter depending on the level of their assets. Historically, anyone who had assets, including their own home, over £23,250 did not qualify for social care funding from the council. The changes mean that this threshold will now rise to £100,000, however. In short, this means that in-home private social care has become much, much more affordable for many people.

High-Quality Care Shouldn’t Cost The World

At Anglian Care, we provide high-quality care services to people in their own homes. Many people we look after are elderly but we also provide care to other adults. Unlike a residential home, the costs associated with visiting care professionals are much lower. In other words, even if you do not qualify for any financial support from Essex County Council under the revised funding scheme, we can still help. We have many privately funded clients who prefer to have us visit them rather than opt for residential care. Not only does it mean being able to live more independently, but it is frequently cheaper, too.

If you think you might qualify for local authority funding, then you will need to speak to the council first so they can make an assessment of both your needs and your finances. If you qualify, then you can contact us and we’ll take you through the process of procuring your care needs from your funding package.

Equally, if you don’t qualify, we’d recommend calling or emailing so we can carry out our own care assessment for you or your loved one. This way, you will know exactly how much it will cost to cover all of your personal care needs. Alternatively, why not call us to chat about switching from your current care provider and potentially saving money? We’d be happy to hear from you.

The Anglian CarePromise

It is hard when deciding on a care company to look after our advocate or loved one and it is not one we take lightly.

Anglian Care was founded in 2008 as our Founder Des wanted to ensure that his grandmother was looked after by caring, professional and dedicated carers. After founding Anglian Care his mission was to give ‘peace of mind’.

With over 10 years of experience we have learnt what the word ‘care’ truly means.

Our carers are special people, not everyone can become a carer. Ensuring our care values are at a heart of everything we do, our best practice is making you happy which makes us happy.

We want to give you the knowledge that our loved one is safe, happy and well looked after, so you can ho back to popping in for a cup of tea and spending some quality time together, knowing the rest is taken care of.

Appreciation for our Care Team

Anglian Care values our care team and the incredible care that is done each day! Through our Unsung Hero awards each month we nominate a member of our care team that has gone above and beyond.

We also have our Carer of the Year Award. All of our team nominate a person they feel has provided quality, compassionate care throughout the year.

Through our partnership with United in Kinds Castlepoint local representative Anna Wilson Anglian Care our care team have given ‘Send a Smile’ cards and a ‘Hug in a Shrug’ blanket. These initiatives have brought our care team closer to the community and those they care for.
